Rodrigo Duterte Eats Something Smelly

President Duterte eating Durian

Botanically called Durio zibethinus or Durio is a tropical fruit mainly found in tropical countries like the Southeast Asia. Philippines, being a tropical country, have vast Durian trees which bears fruits during tropical seasons like months of August until October. In the Philippines, Davao City is the land of wide Durian farms making it the Durian Capital of the country.

Durian of Davao City

Branded as the King of Fruits in Southeast Asia, Durian is the kind of fruit many people don't like to eat or even taste because of its foul smell but for some, it is the most delicious fruit they've ever tasted. I am a fan of  this fruit and what's even surprising is that this fruit is the favorite of Rody Duterte! Strong fruit for a strong eater. Even on meetings, Rody Duterte offers Durian to visitors as their meal. A single meeting can last for 20 hours which starts from 9PM until 4-5 early in the morning.

President Rodrigo Duterte Joked About the Possibility of Going to War with China

"I reiterate my commitment to the Moro people, to the Tausug, gusto ko po [matapos] ang giyera na ito para makauwi na rin ang mga sundalo. May mga pamilya rin sila at maghintay na lang tayo ng giyera sa China,"[“ I want this conflict to end so that the soldiers can finally return home. They do have families and well just wait for the war against China.”] he said as some of the audience laughed.

"Baka giyerahin tayo ng mga gago. Mahirap iyan. Medyo wala tayong missile. Pero hand-to-hand, kaya. Pero siyagit [shout] man lang,"[“Maybe they’ll commence war against us. That’s tough. Cause we may not have a missile. But on hand-to-hand, we can.”] he once again said in jest.

The Philippines is engaged in a territorial dispute with China over parts of the South China Sea.

Relations between the two countries hit a nadir last month after Beijing refused to recognize a UN-backed ruling invalidating its claims to much of the sea.

The Philippines, which says it owns areas claimed by China, took the case to a Hague-based tribunal for arbitration.

Rodrigo Duterte’s Theme Song Written by Freddie Aguilar

Rody "Digong" Duterte

Rody Duterte may be known for his fearlessness but the man with the iron fists also has his soft side when it comes to the music he listens. Along with his campaign for presidency, Freddie Aguilar, an old friend, wrote him a song especially for him. Touched by the message of the song, Digong even made it his campaign theme song. Also in support  to the OPM (Original Philipine Music). Even on and during interviews with the media, you cannot start a press conference without the song being played. He wants everybody to listen to it for he believes that the song is the tool for the nation to be united.

Anak by Freddie Aguilar

One of the most influencial musicians in the Philippines and in Asia, Freddie Aguilar set the foundation of the original Filipino music. His music is influenced mostly by his Filipino heritage, nationalistic approach, and life experiences that is related to the daily lives of the Filipinos. His hit song "Anak" has been recorded with 23 languages throughout the world with hundreds of versions.

Below is the song called Duterte Para Sa Tunay Na Pagbabago that Freddie Aguilar wrote for Rody Duterte. You can sing along with the lyrics below.

Duterte Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago
By Freddie Aguilar

Ikaw ang pangulo

ikaw ang makaahon
sa piling mo digong mawawala
ang corruption

Bangon na pilipinas tayo na at magbago
hawak kamay tayo
para sa pag asinso
ikaw at ako tayong lahat kay digong
duterte para sa tunay na pagbabago.

Bangon na pilipinas tayo na at magbago
hawak kamay tayo
para sa pag asinso
ikaw at ako tayong lahat kay digong
duterte para sa tunay na pagbabago

masdan mo ang paligid
talamak ang mga kremin
rape druga at mga nakawan
dapat ma pigilan

Bangon na pilipinas
tayo na at magbago
hawak kamay tayo
para sa pag asinso

ikaw at ako tayong lahat kay digong
duterte para sa tunay na pagbabago

Bangon na pilipinas tayo na at magbago
hawak kamay tayo
para sa pag asinso
ikaw at ako tayong lahat kay digong

Why I Voted Rody Duterte as My President

2016 Philippine National Elections
As a student of a public university in Mindanao, I am a witness of how diverted Mindanao is. Looking back to my struggling days as a college student, especially during exam weeks, I just can’t imagine. The cram and the sleepless nights were real. I prefer the essay type of exam so I was confident when my professor announced we’ll have an essay exam. The word itself can be mispronounced as “easy” but it’s not easy as easy is not the university’s standard .

The essay exam had only one question: “What do you think is the best solution to the conflict in Mindanao?”

Without thinking twice, I answered FEDERALISM and explained my stand because I was thinking about how organized the Federal Government of the USA and this and that. A week after, exam results came and I got 3.0 on the essay part. Prof. X even remarked “IT’S NOT THE SOLUTION”. I had the feeling Prof. X let me pass only because of my nice penmanship and not of my honest explanation. I always thought I had the best answer on that part and I reckon getting at least 1.75 grade out of it. I’m cool about my rating though but 3.0 is not my ideal number.

Prof. X wasn’t really convinced by my stand but trust me federalism will happen and it’s the solution in Mindanao. I am writing this because there was something in my stand that Mayor Rody Duterte understands not even before he had the audacity to run for president. Now he just won the election. He is now the president of the Republic of the Philippines. I am eager to support him and his government for the betterment of the Philippines and my countrymen.
Change is coming. Discipline and be disciplined.

Also voted for Duterte last election? Comment down why.

First Mindanaoan President: Rodrigo "Digong" Duterte

"IF YOU DESTROY OUR CHILDREN, OUR COUNTRY, I WILL KILL YOU."

Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte as the cover of TIME Magazine

Labeled as "The Punisher", the newly elected president of the Philippines still wants to call him 'Mayor' inspite the fact that he is now the President. He wants people to see him as a simple individual who eats rice and breaths same air as his countrymen.  He even disregarded the title "HIS EXCELLENCY" during his first SONA.

Mindanao, second largest island in the Philippines. A person from Mindanao is called Mindanaoan. You could be a citizen for a long time or your ethnicity and roots could be from a place in Mindanao.  Mindanao is ethnically, socially, and religiously diverted. President Duterte being a resident of Davao City, largest city in the Philippines, has been a very eager leader in town politically serving Davao for more than two decades as the city Mayor and also has been the Vice Mayor. He had a lot of accomplishments including the improvement of Davao making it to be included in the list of the safest cities in the world. Not only he is a very active participant of productivity in Davao but also in different places making him very influential and respected.
